Report | This Week's WWE TV Tapings In Atlanta, Georgia

Rported by wrestlingnewsworld.com

Wrestling News World reader Kyle Poole sent in the following report:

Before the show started, people in certain sections, including mine, were held off from entering into their section due to, what I heard, a snapped cable. We were held out of entering our section for a good bit and were finally let in about 15 minutes or so before the show started.

First match of the night was a dark match between Alberto Del Rio and Tyler Reks. Del Rio picked up the win and got a decent amount of heat. Mainly due to his promo before the match. This was an ok match. *1/2

After that, it was time for NXT. The opening videos aired and the pyro went off and NXT pros made their way to their seats on the stage and then the NXT rookies came out ready for the next challenge, which unfortunately was a talking challenge. Each rookie was given 30 seconds I believe to talk about whatever lame subject Striker gave them. After Percy Watson, the crowd died a lot. No boring chants though. Percy won and will have his own talk show next week on NXT.

After the challenge was finally over, it was time for some wrestling. Percy Watson vs. Michael McGillicutty was first. I'm pretty sure I was the only one in my area cheering for McGillicutty. I'm also pretty sure I was the only one in my area celebrating after McGillicutty won. It was an ok match for me. The crowd was hot for Percy though. They really did enjoy his part in the talking challenge. **

Next up was a match I was really excited for, The Miz vs. Kaval. I knew this would be Match of the Night for NXT. This was a good lengthy match and was very entertaining. I knew Kaval wouldn't pick up the win, but I was still wanting him to though. Some very good action was delivered from both The Miz and Kaval and the crowd seemed to be really into it. The Miz picked up the win and drove Kaval's record down to 1-3. **1/2 - ***

The main event was next and it was Cody Rhodes & his rookie, Husky Harris, vs. Mark Henry & his rookie, Lucky Cannon. This was a short main event and it was just ok for me. Nothing too great. Towards the end of the match, Cody Rhodes' finisher was MAJORLY botched. It looked like Lucky is the one who messed it up. Cody then got up and did his finisher again to Lucky and this time it was successful and he got the pin. WWE may of edited the botch out of the show though, I'm not sure. **

Throughout NXT, they showed some videos of the new rookies. I enjoyed these videos because it seemed like the pros were giving their real opinions on the new rookies.

After NXT, it was time for Superstars. The first match, if it's considered a match, was the Master Lock Challenge, Chris Masters vs. The Dudebusters. I HATE The Dudebusters! I believe the first Dudebuster up for the challenge was Caylen Croft. He sat down in the chair and Masters destroyed him with the Master Lock. Next up was Trent Barreta. Masters was about to lock in the Master Lock when Croft attacked him from behind. Croft and Barreta beat down Chris Masters and then left. This was a real crowd killer.

Next up was the Superstars main event, LayCool vs. Kelly Kelly & Tiffany. This was a long Divas match and surprised me a lot. Usually WWE just pisses on the Divas and gives them no good storyline and not enough TV time. The Divas here were given a good amount of time to work in the ring. The match, for WWE Divas standards, was ok I thought. LayCool picked up the win. **

Smackdown time! After the opening videos and pyro were finished, which by the way WWE knows how to make good videos and their pyro is always sick, Drew McIntyre was in the ring. Teddy Long eventually came out. Drew said all of his work visa issues were resolved and on his way back to America he realized he has done bad to Long. Drew said it's never too late to apologize and Teddy said he was a liar. Drew went on to say that he is nominating Teddy for the Hall of Fame 2011. Drew was doing this to try and get a main event spot at Wrestlemania 27. Teddy said that could happen, if Drew wins the Money in the Bank match. Teddy said Drew can get in the match if he gets on his knees and begs. A video was shown from three weeks ago when Drew made Teddy to the same thing. Teddy told Drew to praise him. Drew did so by calling him handsome, high class, etc. After that, Teddy denied him into the Money in the Bank match and said that if he wants to be in it, he has to defeat Kofi Kingston later on tonight. The crowd loved this segment!

First match for Smackdown was a qualifying match for Money in the Bank between Dolph Ziggler, Chavo Guerrero, and MVP. This was a good opening match to Smackdown. This was a lengthy match that saw some good action from all three wrestlers. Dolph Ziggler picked up the win with some help from Vickie Guerrero. Ziggler is now in the Smackdown Money in the Bank match which is fine with me, but I was really hoping that MVP would win. Ever since MVP was moved to Smackdown, I thought he would be involved in some good things, but he hasn't done anything and continues to fall each week. I think he needs to go heel just so he can actually be involved in something. ***

Up on the Titantron, Rey Mysterio was shown in the backstage along with some doctors. Jack Swagger came in the room and told everyone to get out. He then attacked Mysterio's injured ankle. He put the Ankle Lock in on Mysterio and dragged him down a hall. At one point he slammed Mysterio's leg onto the concrete ground and slung him into a wall. Swagger then put the Ankle Lock back on Mysterio and dragged him out into the arena next to the stage where he was still applying the Ankle Lock to Mysterio. The Big Show eventually came out and ran Swagger away. Show then carried Mysterio to the back.

Next up was Christian & Matt Hardy vs. Vance Archer & Curt Hawkins. Into the match, Hardy was going for a tag on Christian when Christian took his arm and just dragged him over the top rope out onto the floor. Christian then walked off while the crowd booed him. Archer and Hawkins then hit some finishers on Hardy for the win. This will either turn out to be a heel turn for Christian or just to prove yet again at Money in the Bank it's every man for himself, or maybe it will turn out to be both. For what was there, *1/2

Next was a match between Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston where if Drew McIntyre wins, he's in the Smackdown Money in the Bank match. This was Match of the Night for Smackdown! A very fun and entertaining match. Some signature moves were hit from Kofi which were nice to see live in person. A good, long match where Drew McIntyre picked up the win and will now be in the Smackdown Money in the Bank match. ***1/2

Out came the Straight Edge Society. Serena came out separately and begged for forgiveness. Luke Gallows ripped her up. Gallows said he didn't forgive her and CM Punk said it wasn't Gallows' decision, it was his and Punk forgave her. Gallows then left and walked back up the ramp. Serena said she wouldn't mess up again and Punk said that she better not while Gallows looked from the stage very unhappily.

Cody Rhodes vs. JTG was next. JTG got a nice little pop. Match itself was short and there was nothing to it. Just to point out, Cody Rhodes has a new entrance video. *

Backstage, Josh Matthews was interviewing Kelly Kelly and it was announced that at Money in the Bank, it will be Kelly Kelly vs. Layla for the Women's championship. Layla then came on and bashed Kelly. They started to fight and then Michelle McCool came and helped Layla out.

Josh Matthews was then interviewing The Big Show. Josh Matthews is a busy person! Show said the Ankle Lock is very painful and Rey is still suffering. Show said tonight he will make Jack Swagger suffer.

Smackdown main event time. Jack Swagger vs. The Big Show. The match ended very quickly in a double count out. The Big Show showed some good crowd control during his slaps to the chest. The second slap to Swagger, Show told the crowd to quiet down and Show waited a few seconds and the crowd actually got real quiet. That slap was very loud! Both of them were great! Anyways, the match ended in a double count out when both Swagger and Show were fighting up the entrance ramp. They fought and eventually Swagger got Show down and left. Afterwards, the titantron showed Swagger backstage being grabbed by Kane and being thrown into a red room. Kane accused Swagger of attacking The Undertaker but Swagger said he didn't and will prove it next week. Kane said if there's doubt, Swagger will be condemned to hell. I didn't rate this match because it really didn't deserve a rating. Like I said though, the slaps to the chest by The Big Show were great!

After that, it was time for the dark main events. First one was a fatal 4 Way for the World Heavyweight championship. It was Jack Swagger, who was carried back out by Kane, vs. The Big Show vs. Kane vs. Rey Mysterio, who was limping. This was an entertaining match and the crowd was hot for it. Mysterio hit a 619 on Swagger as he had an Ankle Lock on The Big Show. The crowd loved that! Mysterio hit his finisher, not the 619, the one off the top rope (sorry, don't know the actual name), onto Swagger for the win. ***

Next up was the 6-on-6 match. It was advertised as 7-on-7, but on RAW, both R-Truth and Darren Young were taken out. So it was changed to 6-on-6. First John Cena came out to a GIANT pop. John Morrison was out next, then Randy Orton who also had a GIANT pop. Edge was out next and though his colorful pyro went off, there was no actual explosion to them. It was quiet pyro. Chris Jericho was out next and he had loud pyro. Edge and Jericho then started to fight. Once they were finished, they both walked off angrily and left. Sheamus then came out and stood on the stage and said he could team up with them and end The Nexus tonight, but he didn't like John Cena, so he left. The Nexus then came out and it was a 3-on-6 match. A pretty good match that actually had some wrestling. I was honestly expecting a giant brawl, but that didn't happen immediately. Right as the match started the crowd was pretty quiet. So, me and my friend just yelled" WE WANT DANIEL BRYAN" and a person a few rows up started a "we want Daniel Bryan" chant. Sadly, not too many people joined in and it didn't last too long. A lot of people had that look on their face like, "who's Daniel Bryan?" Ughh, anyways, the match went on a good bit before they all started fighting. Cena and Orton hit their finishers at the same time and the crowd loved it. Cena pinned Skip Sheffiled for the win in what was a good match and a good way to end the Supershow. ***

Overall, this was a great Supershow! About 4 hours of good stuff. Only complaints I have are the amount of videos they showed throughout, mainly during Smackdown. It just seemed like there were too many. If you have never attended a WWE show before, do it! They're always really fun! I'm pretty sure the next stop in Atlanta for WWE is April 3rd, 2011, Wrestlemania 27!

Biggest Pops:
John Cena
Randy Orton
Rey Mysterio

The Big Show and the Wrestlemania 27 promos got good pops too though.

Biggest Heat:
Jack Swagger
The Nexus
Straight Edge Society
